Istanbul Roots
Growing up in Istanbul gave Cemhan an eye for contrast — ancient and modern, East and West, shadow and light. The Bosphorus sunsets, the Grand Bazaar's chaos, and the Ottoman architectural legacy all shaped his visual vocabulary before he ever picked up a professional camera.
New York: SoHo and Beyond
New York became Cemhan's proving ground. In SoHo, he founded Unpomela, a luxury boutique that attracted Beyonce, Britney Spears, and Cher — all through word of mouth. The experience of curating fashion for celebrities honed his understanding of style, presentation, and visual storytelling.
The Photography Breakthrough
Cemhan's transition from entrepreneur to photographer wasn't a career change — it was an expansion. The same eye that curated Unpomela's collections now composed fashion editorials for luxury brands. Two National Geographic awards followed, along with Sony, Lucie, and Loupe recognition.
